Surroundings design of Evangelismos metro station

The ground surface over the station becomes a square with plants and concrete sitting cubes. Due to the narrowness between the roof slab of the station and the floor of the square the trees are replanted into 1m in diameter concrete pipes filled with garden soil so that their roots do not destroy the protective membrane of the slab.
The whole landscaping is of a cone cross section to give emphasis to the public’s direction towards the stairs and the elevators of the station.
